Reporting to Parents

 

The school will use a variety of methods for reporting students’ progress and achievement, ranging from informal reporting as needs or opportunities arise, to formal reporting undertaken in structured ways at certain times of the year across the school.

 

REPORTING CYCLE

Term 1 Week 2-3 – Parent Information Sessions

Parent information sessions for Kindergarten to Year 7 parents will be held out of school hours in the first few weeks of Term 1. Classroom teachers will provide information in relation to:

  • classroom organisational matters;
  • teaching and learning programs in curriculum areas;
  • assessment procedures;
  • policies, including homework and behaviour management;
  • parental involvement in the classroom; and
  • other areas deemed to be important to the particular phase of schooling.

An opportunity will be provided for general queries to be answered.

 

Semester 1 – Parent Interviews

Parent/teacher interviews for Kindergarten to Year 7 parents will be conducted  in Semester 1.

All parents will be offered a 15 minute interview, with phone interviews available (on request) for those who can not attend face to face.

 

Formal School Report

The Department of Education and Training formal report will be issued to all Year 1 to 7 students in the final week of Term. This report is on a centrally developed report form which includes information about academic achievement and progress, Attitudes, Behaviour and Effort and personalised teacher comments for most learning areas and an overall comment. K and PP reports are school based format.

 

Semester 2 – Summative Reports

The Department of Education and Training formal report will be issued to all Year 1 to 7 students during the final week of Term. This report: is on a centrally developed report form which includes information about academic achievement and progress, Attitudes, Behaviour and Effort and personalised teacher comments. K and PP reports are school based format.
